He hears the soft murmur of voices, but no amorous noises, so he enters–
–and freezes in the doorway.
The first thing he sees is Stede’s profile, standing tall in the middle of the room and looking down consideringly. Izzy follows his gaze and sees… Jesus fucking Christ. Edward is kneeling on the floor at Stede’s feet, a strip of black fabric covering his eyes, and another one threaded through his half-open mouth and tied tightly behind his head as a gag. His hands are behind his back, and from the tension in his shoulders and chest, it looks as though they’re bound as well. Some distant part of Izzy’s mind, removed from the shock of the moment, is relieved to see a pillow under Edward’s bad knee. At least fucking Bonnet has the sense to do something right.
He turns to go, but he stops when he hears Stede speak, his voice as smooth and deadly as a serpent. “You’re not going anywhere, are you?”
