Summary
The Emperor of Li has a son. The first son of his to live past infancy. The son, Zuigestsu, is now the crowned prince.
With the privilege, he's grown to be. . . arrogant. He’s also a fuck boy. As the crowned prince hes able to have access to the consorts in the inner court. Let’s just say, he tries many of the different women there and hasn't been satisfied with them.
It wasn't until a new consort was given to him, where he actually thought about something other than himself. Watching her, hes grown soft.
Lady La, or Maomao as she is called, grew up with her crazy family in the La clan compound. Her father, Lakan, made sure she got to learn everything she wanted, and needed to succeed in the inner palace. It wasn't a secret to Maomao that she would eventually be sent there.
When she was sent there, she had not expected to be sent for the crowned prince. She had just expected to go to the inner court, maybe have the emperor visit once or twice, but to go directly to the Moon Prince and be his consort.
She needs to figure out if she is excited or scared.

If he doesn’t have enough self control, Lan WangJi probably has dropped the invitation he has in his hands. His eyes quickly find the bit about the tournament in the invitation. Indeed the invitation is longer than the common invitation for Discussion Conference. The details about the tournament is written at the last part of the invitation. It is no different than the usual sword tournament but the winner is eligible to take Wei WuXian’s hand in marriage.
