Summary
“...when was the last time you saw father?”
“This morning. We all had breakfast together.”
“Uh-huh…and what’s the date?”
“March 1st, 1063,” Diluc answered without missing a beat. Kaeya’s arms dropped to his side, and his skin grew increasingly pale.
“That’s—that’s not possible.”
“Why?” Kaeya remained silent. Diluc took a shaky step forward. “Why, Kaeya?” The look in that crystalline eye almost scared Diluc. He’s not sure why, but something told him he really didn’t want to know the answer to that question.
“Because father died on April 30th, 1058. He’s been dead for almost five years.”
*****Two versions of Diluc end up in each others' worlds. One where Crepus never died, and one that we know all too well.
The harsh reality of what could have been may be too much for them to handle.Bookmarked by lonerwind

Summary
Instead of crying when in pain, he always laughed, cackled and giggled in delighted glee to cover up the bleeding of his heart. With a tongue made of silver, Kaeya Alberich was the master of language, able to twist everything into anything he wanted it to be, the intention behind every word hidden with such ease it lying was almost instinctive at times. Jean eventually learned to treat his silence as confessions and his laughter as tears streaming down his face. And how she wished to see him shed a tear.
5 times Kaeya laughed instead of crying and 2 times he cried instead of laughing.

Summary
"Even model Knights need to be careful on the mountain. You're one of my best friends, Kaeya. I don't want to lose anyone, but especially not the people close to me. I just want you to be careful up there, okay?"
Kaeya huffed out a small laugh.
"I'll be fine, Jean. No need to give me a lecture. I promise I won't die on you."
---
Amber will come for me, he assured himself, She'll get the civilians to safety and then come back with help. I just have to keep myself alive until then. Two days, maybe three. Less if I can get to someplace where a patrol can spot me.He brought himself up to his knees, balanced on his good elbow as he began dragging himself forward through the snow. He'd try standing again when he could see better and didn't feel so dizzy.
Everything he could still feel screeched in protest at even the most minuscule of movements. He found himself winded, coughing violently in spite of not making any progress. He had absolutely no sense of direction as he crawled wretchedly, groping around for his sword.
It was going to be a long couple of days.
