Summary
"Congratulations," Francesca said. Only she could hear the slight edge beneath it, the anger that had been simmering for ten years finally finding its way to the surface.
"Thank you." Michaela's voice was quieter, softer, almost uncertain.
Francesca extended the award. The crystal was cold and heavy, the engraved plaque catching the light. For a moment they both held it—Francesca's hands on one side, Michaela's reaching for the other. Their fingers brushed. It was the barest contact—the pad of Michaela's thumb grazing Francesca's knuckles as she took hold of the trophy. But the sensation was electric, a shock that traveled up Francesca's arm and exploded somewhere in her heart. Heat and ice at the same time. Recognition. Memory. The ghost of every time they'd touched before.
Ten years ago, Francesca Bridgerton lost the girl she loved. Michaela abandoned her.
Ten years ago, Michaela Stirling lost the girl she loved. She was taken away from Francesca.
Now they’re co‑stars in the most anticipated movie of the year, pretending they don’t remember how it felt to lose each other.

Summary
Francesca Bridgerton never forgot Michaela Stirling. She just got very good at not thinking about her.
Ten years.A career she built from the ground up. A life that worked exactly the way she’d designed it: controlled and precise. She was good at this. She was, by most measures, fine.
Then, the Altessence Heritage Institute briefing documents arrived. And there, third name on the list, was the one person she had spent a decade not thinking about.
Michaela Stirling. Lead Architect. The most ambitious architectural project London has seen in years and absolutely no way out.Francesca had eleven days to prepare.
It wasn’t enough.

Michaela and Francesca's love story :,)
Featuring a mix of canon/author-created moments, a ton of angst, and all the Brigdy siblings.
Excerpt from Chapter 8: The Shadows Obscure
That’s not ice cream,” Francesca replies with a small giggle. She feels oddly flattered that Michaela remembered the random details.
“It’s close enough,” Michaela says with a smile, as she scoops up a strawberry and some custard and brings the spoon to her mouth.
Francesca watches intensely as Michaela’s tongue peeks out and swipes custard from her bottom lip. Her tongue is pink, wet. It’s mesmerising in its skilful movement. Francesca stands upright uncomfortably.
It’s late, Francesca thinks. She should go to bed.
She’s staring, Michaela thinks. Why is she staring?
