Summary
The beautiful man curved around Shane to block his access to the path down the hallway, taking a step forward to herd his back against the door. Up close he could smell the man's spicy cologne, warm and deep. His eyes flickered to Shane's mouth in rapt attention as his face tilted in interest, his cheekbones cut from glass or a sculptor's hammer.
Something inside of Shane paused, the quiet animal that would run if chased, as if some part of him knew that his life would be measured before and after when this man walked through the doors to his club and watched him on stage.
There, the man's eye color had been impossible to read. Here he could see they were the color of seaglass, the color of the tide rolling in.
“I have special privileges.”
“Do you?” His mouth drew closer, angled near enough to feel his breath, to nearly taste the smoke on his lips.
“Did you like what you saw?”
“Mm. It made me… curious. Do I make you curious?”
