“Do you think you could let all of those go just for this us?” He asked, looking at the stars from above.
“No,” I answered , voice hushed and with hesitation. “Ikaw?”
We both know it: even without uttering the actual words, we knew that this night is supposed to break the both of us. For some reason, it looks like we're both prepared for this night to come.
“Hindi rin,” bulong niya. Napangiti ako, malungkot pero namamangha.. na kahit sa ganitong pagkakataon, magkaparehong magkapareho pa rin kami.
Parehong takot sumugal, parehong takot magmahal.
“So, hanggang dito na lang siguro tayo?” A lone tear fell from my eye. Just because I was prepared, doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.
“Were we even meant to last in the first place?”
Hindi ako sumagot. But at the back of my mind, I knew the answer.
Two midnight rains were never meant to end up with one another.
