When he returned inside, he rolled his shoulders slowly, wincing as stiff muscles protested. He massaged his feet, fingers digging into aching arches, then rubbed at the back of his neck, trying to ease the strain that had settled there from the long day. He sat down a few feet away from the boy, closer to the cave’s entrance, positioning himself as a guard.
“I hope your family is looking for you,” Harua said quietly into the dim light, voice low and tired. “I hope they find you soon.” He glanced back at the boy’s still form, chest tightening. “I’m… I’m at my limit now. So you better get better, okay?”
Exhaustion claimed him before he could say anything else. His body slumped, his thoughts unraveling, and he fell asleep without realizing it, the fire crackling softly between him and the boy.
OR: Harua is turned into a vampire. Then, he falls in love with the wolf he saved.

All of Japan shivers in fear at the word ‘werewolf’, except for Harua who has no first-hand experience with how horrifying the creatures can be when the full moon rises. That is, until he finds out that Maki, the boy he found wounded lying in the middle of the forest and took into his dorm, is a werewolf. Tackling his fear head on to help a werewolf in need was not how he planned on spending his semester on campus…especially since that werewolf is clingier than what he’s used to.

Flabbergasted, Harua froze. In front of him was someone whose face he recognized, but whose name was unknown. "I'm datin' Shigeta-kun now, Jojo. See?" Yuma grasped his hands, shaking them in the air. "We were plannin' to go to the shop together.
"Jojo" blinked. "I … well … since … since when?"
Since never! Harua wanted to scream out, but instead swallowed the words and let Yuma speak. There was some kind of distress on Yuma's face that Harua could barely read. He had never seen him like this, mainly because the Yuma that Harua met was always grinning, laughing, or joking. For the first time, Harua caught his eyebrows furrowing and his shoulders shaking.
The universe was apparently an expert in turning Harua's life into a dull joke. He had been acquainted with Yuma his whole life—now, he had to be his fake boyfriend?
