SET AFTER SEASON 4!!!!!!!! During the 18 months! Bear with me on this one guys :)
Will felt a burst in his heart hearing this after so long. After being in love with Mike for years he has finally received something back.
He smiled a big toothy grin and pulled Mike in kissing him and laughing, smiling against his lips.
BOOM
They both broke from the kiss as a thunderbolt struck on the lake.
Looking up at the sky that had suddenly turned red.
The cracks through Hawkins hadn’t disappeared yet but nothing had happened.
They heard a screech of a demobat and looked at each other, knowing what was coming for them and knowing what they would have to fight next.

He doesn't know what to say; he's not sure he even knows how to breathe.
"Strawberry," Mike says after a moment, his voice wavering.
"What?"
"The flavor… is it strawberry?"

Summary
“Oh, you weren’t aware?” Will clicks his tongue, his slow steps sounding menacing against the quiet surrounding them, “Guess you’re not much of a protector after all.”
Mike can’t do anything but stare. Think, Mike, he tells himself, think.
Will doesn’t waste any time as he flips through a Bible left on the pulpit. “And you call yourself my best friend,” he almost spits those words, and Mike tries not to feel hurt, “but that’s not entirely correct, either, am I right?”
What?
Will and Mike get sent out on a mission to a place that’s suspiciously guarded in Vecna’s mind, which is Hawkin’s Church. Mike has a general dislike for churches that he put aside in favor of accompanying Will.
When Will’s connection to Vecna spirals out of control, Mike is caught in the fallout, not only forced to confront the truth he’s been carrying with him for years but also try to get Will and himself out of there alive. The biggest issue is, Will is possessed and Mike isn’t leaving the church without him.
What begins as a desperate attempt to wake Will up, ends in Mike realizing he would rather face hell than lose Will again.

Summary
What initially begins as Mike and Will calling each other exaggeratedly cheesy pet names to mess with Max and Lucas starts spiralling into something a lot more intimate and dangerous. Will isn't really sure where they managed to lose the plot, or how far they can go before there's no turning back.
Or: Max and Lucas go through a late honeymoon phase. It's excessive. It's gross. Mike and Will (well, mostly Mike) decide to engage in exaggerated bouts of PDA to demonstrate how disgusting the couple are being. It starts to get out of control pretty quickly.
