Summary
He wants Hunter back, but it’s not that easy, it’ll never be that easy. Hunter isn’t his anymore, and he’s not Hunter’s, no matter how much a part of him feels as though he just betrayed Hunter by kissing Mayday.
Yet he wants to do it again. He wants to take Mayday up on his offer. He wants to go to the barracks or the ‘fresher or just somewhere private where they’ll be alone and he can drown himself in everything that Mayday offered to him back on Barton IV.

The batch have been keeping it a float... somehow. When they are called to Bracca to remove the inhibitor chips, meeting back up with the alpha that had put himself between Omega and Hunter may just tip everything over that Hunter has been trying to hold together... or something even worse may be in the cards all together. The new bonds between the youngest of their new squad are put to the test and when the fire burns through, whats left in the ashes may be something completely different than what they started with.

Defective clones are all different, but every defective clone is different in his own way. And Hunter feels sometimes too different, even among the different. He needs and wants all kinds of things: serious things and stupid things, simple things and complicated things.
In the end, he gets some of what he wanted, needed, and what he didn't expect to get.On the whole, this is a coming-of-age story.

During the Clone Wars, Clone Force 99 is suddenly called back to Kamino, and Crosshair is taken to an inner lab where the Kaminoans are keeping a single, blonde baby. Why they think Crosshair is the one to try holding and feeding her, he has no idea. He's the worst possible choice to provide her with any kind of care. However, he quickly realizes he might have more in common with this baby than he first thought. A lot more. He might, in fact, be exactly who she needs. And she might be exactly who he needs too.
