Summary
The egg is the same bright copper color as the rest of Rocky’s body, but smooth where his carapace is bumpy and brittle, the first Eridian-made object I've ever seen with curved edges rather than flat panels and sharp corners. It has a slight taper as well, narrowing upwards from its widest point.
Rocky’s words echo in the back of my mind: “Grace would be perfect at take many ♪♪♫.”
I jam the dissection probe through the shell.

“I thought he was scared of Ron,” Blaise said, looking back at where Malfoy had disappeared.
Ron was incredulous. “Me?”
“Not this again,” Blaise rolled his eyes. “Ron, you literally clobbered his arse like three hours ago.”
“Oh," Ron said, slowly looking quite pleased. "I suppose I did…”

There were at least two things Ron could say for certain that he'd never have expected when he first stepped onto the Hogwarts Express- the first being meeting Harry Potter, and the second being, horrifically, being sorted into SLYTHERIN. Ron is begging for someone to fire the Sorting Hat, right now.
Except Ron doesn't do as poorly as he'd suspected he would in this house of his. He is by no means the picture of a Slytherin dark-magic-dabbling blood supremacist, but that doesn't mean he fails to find friends in Slytherin, not at all. Not only is he mates with the Boy-Who-Lived, but his friend group also comprises of the first muggleborn in Slytherin since about half a century, and Blaise Zabini, son of the infamous Contessa Zabini and equally as suave as her.
Little did Ron know, though, that he was in for one hell of a first year at Hogwarts, whether he was Slytherin or not.

Set during the Goblet of Fire novel. Harry’s been informed he has to have a dance partner for the Yule Ball. He’s refused other girls and put off asking Cho until the last minute, only to find she’s already taken. Ron, in a veela haze, asked Fleur to much public embarrassment. Now they’ve just been told that even Hermione and Ginny already have dates, leaving them with few options and very little time.
“But Harry had just seen Parvati and Lavender come in through the portrait hole. The time had come for drastic action.” J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 22.
But what if the girls hadn’t come in just then? What course of action would Harry, in his desperate frame of mind, have latched onto instead?
