Summary
Life feels so chaotic for Shane sometimes, with all the loud noises and the unwritten rules he’s expected to follow, even though no one ever taught them to him. It’s why the bookstore feels more like home to him than anywhere else in Boston. It doesn’t ask Shane to be anything other than himself. Doesn’t ask for any more than he can give.
He can just exist here.
Shane likes slow, likes taking his time. And Ilya - without saying or doing anything in particular - makes Shane feel like that’s okay. Like he isn’t doing anything wrong by standing still sometimes.
(Or, Shane works in a bookstore, Ilya plays hockey, and they both go to the same college. They fall in love in every universe.)

Summary
“Mm, not stuff his pockets with the drug everyone thinks makes you gay right before a press conference? Maybe!” Ilya’s voice chimed happily from the phone.
“You wanna tell us why you’re so acquainted with Rush that you can identify it in 780p, Ilya?” Kip asked.
“…I have so much leather to deodorize, Kip Grady. So many sports cars, you know.”
--
Kip can't believe no one else can tell how outrageously gay Ilya Rozanov is, but he's not complaining, he's happy to have someone else to talk to at all the hockey functions.
Or: Perfect gaydar haver Ilya Rozanov finally gets a taste of his own medicine. A series of looks into Kip and Ilya's friendship, starting after the cottage.

Summary
“Sweetheart, your pretty little head is so silly. For every photocard I make of ugly hockey men, I make two of my gorgeous, radiant, pulchritudinous boyfriend. Sometimes three.”
A smile breaks through the heated haze of Shane’s expression. “You’ve been using the thesaurus Dad got you for Christmas?”
“I will beat Yuna Hollander at Scrabble one day,” Ilya declares against Shane’s hip bone.
In the year between the Cottage and the Centaurs, Ilya misses Shane more than ever. Svetlana’s teenage cousin offers a coping method: Kpop-style Shane Hollander photocards to stare at all day long. It's a shame carrying around pictures of fellow hockey players is just not socially acceptable.
…At least, not yet.

Summary
Looking down at the bottle’s label like he’s reading the countdown clock on a bomb, Eddie says, “Buck.”
“Eddie.”
Said Eddie huffs. Buck suspects he also had to fight back the urge to stomp his foot with that one. “I don’t need… I’m fine. It’ll go away in a couple of days; it’s only when I stretch weird, anyway, so—”
“Or, hear me out,” Buck interrupts coolly, “you could, I don’t know—relax? A few bubbles won’t bite, Eddie.” Then, softer: “It’s a muscle soak. It’ll help, I swear.”
Eddie holds out the bottle and points at it despairingly. “Citrus jamboree,” he whines.
“It’s a party,” Buck shrugs.
Or: 5 innocuous stops along Buck and Eddie’s cozy journey to forever, +1 destination

Summary
This thing between she and Rozanova, it's just that— a thing. Every once in a while, Shannon will find herself wandering around the mall with her mom because her mom believes that she can make Shannon more interested in girly things like shopping and makeup through exposure despite the fact that Shannon has been exposed her whole life. That's not really the point. The point, Shannon supposes, is that sometimes she'll stop into Sephora or the MAC store to appease her mother by making a small purchase.
Shannon will wander the colorful aisles, pretend to look and then start actually looking, picking up tubes of lipstick— usually red— that she would never wear, but she'll hold the pretty tubes between her fingers, rotate the component and think to herself— Rozanova would look good in this, Rozanova would know how to wear this color without looking like a clown, Rozanova would smear this between my thighs— and Shannon catches herself, stops the thoughts in her tracks, put the lipstick down, wipe her hands on her pants as if she touched something gross as if she could clean out her mind too.
