Unfortunately for Peter, his Spidey-suit doesn't agree.
Or: how the Avengers come together to take care of their youngest.
(Set in an alternate universe where Ultron was never created, Thanos didn't happen, and Bucky never became the Winter Soldier because super-healing works on brains too and Hydra could never get the mind control to stick. Everyone lives, nobody dies, bon appetit.)

Peter’s eyes drifted closed. Tony thought for a moment that he was thinking about it, doing mental math, as he held his head up high. Then his shoulders slowly slumped, and his head did a lolling motion forward, just barely noticeable.
May narrowed her eyes. She leaned over and whispered hesitatingly. “Is he… Sleeping?”
Tony decided for the second time then that he’ll be there for every Academic Decathlon match in the future.

May put a hand over her chest and pressed down against her rapid heart. “Stark, what happened.”
“He was–” Tony started, and then there was shuffling on the other line. Distantly, the sound of crying, and pained, sharp noises.
“Is that him?” May pressed, her head spinning. “What’s happening? You would tell me if my kid got stabbed, wouldn't you? Wouldn't you, Tony?"
