The idea of "home" never really resonated with Sylus. Naturally, for a man in his line of work, the idea of safety was always conditional. Security was found in camera systems, alarms, failsafe plans. Comfort was sleeping with a gun under his pillow to fight off intruders at a moment's notice. Even his base, decked out to the nines in dark, sleek furniture and silk sheets and his collection of records was only a place to stay. A location to live within until something shoved him somewhere else - namely any of his numerous safe houses or remote properties.
It didn't dawn on him until several weeks of living here had passed that this is what home should feel like.
