But the fire of indignation isn’t extinguished yet, Andre wants to hear him say exactly how he’d do better, how he’d invade the cracks of his family tree like a weed.
Andre attempts a small laugh, but he gives himself away the moment he flicks his gaze back down at the bed. “No,” he says, petulantly. The way his voice comes out so high and offended makes him feel embarrassed through to his bones. Cal always takes the highest pleasure in seeing his facade crack.
“Yeah,” Cal says again, climbing closer still to Andre. They’re really close now, and Cal speaks softly, so Andre will look him in the eyes. “Yeah, you do, but you don’t want me to be your brother like he does.”

Andre's older brother's a bit of a douchebag, and Cal hates him for it. Turns out its impossible to bring it up without also wanting to fuck about it.
