Summary
“I’m going to go practice some firebending forms,” Zuko says stiffly, running a hand through the tangles in his hair. “Tell Aang to join me if he wants to once he wakes up.” Gold eyes dart up to where Aang had strung up a makeshift hammock and was still sleeping soundly, snoring like a buffalo yak.
“Alright,” Sokka says, watching as he walks out without another word, evidently having reverted back into his usual brooding self. “Have fun!” He calls after Zuko loudly, which he means to be sarcastic, but comes out painfully, embarrassingly sincere. His face burns, and as soon as Zuko passes out of sight into the the temple, Katara turns to him, leveling him with a Look.
“You like him.” She says, and it’s not a question.

Summary
“You’re Shirogane, right?” He asks, tilting his head with a curious look in his warm eyes. Keith nods, eyebrows furrowing.
“That’s what this says, yeah.” He replies, reaching up to fiddle with his nameplate, the cool metal almost a relief on his skin that suddenly feels overheated in Álvarez’s presence.
“No, I mean, you’re the Shirogane. Keith Shirogane?” Álvarez says, looking at Keith expectantly.

Summary
Keith’s childhood is fractured with blurred-out edges, and it's partially his own fault. He made a point of forgetting old schools, old houses; finding nostalgia instead in redrock and tumbleweed and sandstorm-sharp wind.
But he remembers the Garrison.

Summary
“Hey─the pod healed my leg, I can walk fine!” He protests, but Lance is already striding across the med bay and through the doorway, letting it hiss closed behind him.
“Nah babe, this is totally necessary,” he says with a smile in his voice, making his way down the hall toward Keith’s room. “Just let me cradle you in my arms.” He sticks out his tongue playfully, and Keith groans, burying his face in his hands.

Summary
There's something heavy settled in the air around him. The humidity of leftover steam trickles easily through the door, slightly ajar, and it pulls the warm flush from his cheeks along with it.
“Huh,” he says aloud, eyes fixed on the door handle. He closes the door behind him when he showers─it traps the steam into a satisfying fog, pressing against his skin and leaving heat-flush imprints. Right now, he feels the tile cold under his bare feet and the prickle of goosebumps tracing the line of his shoulders.
The bathroom door is open.

Summary
He’s never been able to call the room on the castleship his. He’s always aware of how painfully temporary things are─his time with the Blade has only bolstered that, a needling reminder that Voltron can and will function without him. Yet, sitting on a bed that should be familiar, staring at the blank walls, he can’t help but feel unsettled by the fact that he does not feel comforted by a space he used to inhabit. It feels empty, forced, like a puzzle with the pieces pushed together the wrong way.
He’s entirely too conscious of the thought that maybe that’s what he’s doing─forcing himself into a puzzle he doesn’t fit. Forcing himself into the team.
