At 11:45pm on Sunday, December 31st, Enjolras meets tall, dark, and emo Grantaire.
Fresh off a disastrous long-term relationship, Enjolras's New Year's resolution is not to date for a year...but Grantaire isn't looking for a boyfriend, and Enjolras finds that maybe he needs to blow off steam with someone whose opinion of him doesn't matter. Grantaire is more than happy to oblige.
The deal is clear: No hickeys, no staying overnight, and no feelings. And it's all over when the new year rolls around again.“What's your drink?”
Enjolras looked up to find a lanky, fluffy-haired boy straight out of a 2009 tumblr post standing by the kitchen counter. He blinked, glancing down at his empty solo cup and then back at the other man. His eyes were green, but more notable was the smudged eyeliner under them, giving him the look of a raccoon that may or may not have tried cocaine at some point in the past year.
“Uh…lemonade. I'm DD.”

Summary
Now he was older and calmer and generally happier, but sometimes he still longed for those days, and the fierce hope that had burned within him. He had thought he would change the world, but he found the world very resistant to change.
So he started smaller.aka it's been years since Enjolras last saw Grantaire, and things are different. Maybe this time they'll be older and more sensible and able to actually work things out.

I didn't know what to make for this prompt but I wanted to do E/R. And then I was like what if I drew them but little goobers. So then I just came up with an idea of a trans Enjolras piece where Grantaire meets him when he's still fem presenting. And perhaps they meet again as adults during the book.

For a single, glorious instant, all Grantaire registers is how beautiful the man is. He’s beautiful in a way that Grantaire has not seen on earth for a hundred years, maybe a thousand; beautiful in the way of gods and myths. It’s the kind of beauty that would leave him breathless, if Grantaire still breathed, but instead just manifests as just a stunned blow to the chest. The cut of those cheekbones, that high, delicate nose; the impossibly red mouth and the shock of golden curls tumbling just below his jaw.
Apollo, Grantaire thinks, and the man, as if hearing his name, turns to face him.
Then the thirst hits.

“So you would rather suffer here alone than allow me to help you?” Enjolras replies.
Grantaire was astonished that this was the part of his explanation that Enjolras appears to have been troubled by the most. With an incredulous laugh, Grantaire tells him, ”I would not ask that of you.”
“Why not?” Enjolras, perplexed, reacts as if Grantaire is the one being absurd for not suggesting he do so. But he remains pragmatic, as if they were discussing the state of the Republic or philosophical pursuits. “You provide me with your blood, why should you not receive anything in return?”
Enjolras, the true égalitaire.

Or, werewolf Grantaire goes into his rut and vampire Enjolras really wants his blood. They find a mutually beneficial solution to this.
