Summary
When the long game falls apart, Shane and Ilya need a new plan.
I recommend reading the series in order it was posted, even though the second fic is a prequel to the first one.

Summary
It’s been 6 months since Shane Hollander was rejected by Ilya Rozanov in an ice rink in Sochi. Shane’s bruised ego has pushed him to resent Ilya. So, when Rozanov propositions him in a backstage bathroom, Shane takes the opportunity to tell Rozanov to go fuck himself.
Shane is proud of himself for giving Rozanov a taste of his own medicine, but it doesn’t quiet the turmoil he feels from his continued attraction to the Russian man.
When Shane steps out of the after party to get some air and finds Rozanov with a black eye and busted lip, any resolve to stay away from him is gone. Shane finds himself right back in the hurricane that is Ilya Rozanov, and seeing a side to him that he didn’t know existed.
OR
Alternative scene where Shane rejects Ilya in the Vegas bathroom, only to find himself wiping blood from his face later and asking who was responsible.

Summary
Shane Hollander didn't mean to become a gay icon, he meant to become a hockey player. The gay thing was just...incidental, or whatever. Who better to help him cope with this mixed bag of deeply complicated emotions and inadvertent responsibility while introducing Shane to the joyous parts of Queer Culture than a group chat with queer hockey players and the substantially better halves?
