Summary
Vincent lets his knuckles hit the wooden door heavily, making the occupant aware of his presence. His turtle neck coils around his scruff as he stands fidgeting awkwardly at the front door, footsteps at the other side making their approach. Finally, it swings open, revealing a pretty blonde dressed in presumably her finest.
"Vincent!" Excitedly, the girl swings her hands around him. "Come inside, the scones are almost done." She smiles, dimples adorning her face, the lack of distance in between them forcing her strong perfume to be sampled by the dull chef. After the moment had passed, she let go.
He nods and begins to follow her inside as she repeatedly turns around to ensure his presence, "Sounds delicious." He mumbles, glancing at the sharp kitchen knife on the counter, presumably there for innocent purposes.
It was a shame he wasn't.

"Come on, Forrest. Give it a go, for me?" Sandra chuckled, patting Forrest's cheek softly as he took off his seatbelt and reached for the car door. The streets were empty, the sky was dark and the only light source was the cars headlights and the shiny logo of the KFAM radio station they were pulled up outside of. As the car door opened slightly at the will of the man's hand, hot breath could be seen in the cold air.
"Only if you promise me one-on-one sessions. Now that'd be something I could never refuse."

At first, it was a little jarring to be receiving comments with such implications behind them from his boss, but Lucas had grown used to it. But eventually everyone is bound to break when a limit is pushed, especially when moneys involved.

“No.” A pause. Then quieter, “Because I can’t stop saving you.”
It lands like a gunshot.
And then, for the first time in hours, in days, maybe in this entire new cursed life, they’re both completely still. No pretending. No roles. Just two men who should have destroyed each other long ago, stuck in the same cracked room, tethered to a child neither of them can name, pulled together by some terrible gravity they don’t understand.
