Something was off, this wasn’t how their mornings were supposed to go. Usually his brother would be sat at the kitchen table reading a comic whilst mom prepared breakfast, their father reading a newspaper opposite his youngest.
“Son…something happened last night.” His father began, and his tone made Donald’s blood run cold. His father had been solemn, battling his emotions, and it was so foreign that it made the hairs on the back of Donald’s neck stand up straight.
