Summary
Will was laughing, seemingly at the fact that he had just been insulted by El and Max back to back. His hair was ruffled up, his eyelids were heavy, and his shirt was hiked up slightly from shifting around in his sleep, though he pretended not to notice.
“Oh, you’re awake.” he spoke, his frown morphing into something slightly more pleasant. “How was your nap?” He asked.
Will shrugged. “Fine, I guess.” He paused for a minute, “Probably would’ve been a bit better if it wasn’t a million degrees in here, though.”
Mike’s face lit up, convinced that he had finally had some sort of victory, “See! I told you guys it was too hot in here.” He grumbled once again.
Will held back a laugh, trying to save a sliver of Mike’s dignity while he still had it. “The only difference is I didn’t whine about it the whole time.” He added, going in for the final kill.
OR
Mike and Will are forced to share a bed together during the group’s first ever summer vacation together, and Mike soon realizes that his feelings he’s been trying to push away can’t be ignored forever.

Summary
They say when you’re revived, your soul snaps back like a rubber band. But Will didn’t die in a hospital; he died in a world of rot, and when he was pulled back in 1983, his soul sheared.
Now, in the heat of 1989, Will hides his scars and ignores how Mike Wheeler looks at him. He pretends to be fine, but he is actually exhausted. He is also not alone. A thirteen-year-old version of himself is standing in his bedroom mirror, appearing exactly as Will did when he first went missing. Only Will can see him.
While Will deals with this ghost, Mike is struggling. He is unhappy in his relationship with Jane and is lashing out because he is confused about his feelings for Will. Everything changes when Will sees a vision in the Void. He discovers the truth about the night he disappeared and realizes the deadbolt on his front door didn't open by the Demogorgon.
As their secrets come out, Will and Mike are forced to confront their trauma and the feelings they have been hiding from each other for years.
Or, where Will is haunted by a ghost of his younger self.
