“I love you, too.” Dean says as he tightly embraces Cas, trying to shield the angel from the Empty.
Death finally breaks the door and as she steps in the room, the Empty grabs her and disappears. Dean lets a relieved breath out, still holding onto Cas, and then he notices Cas’ hands on his waist, he can almost listen to Castiel’s heartbeat and something about his best friend's presence feels lighter. Dean loosens his grip as he takes a small step back and looks at Cas' completely confused face, “What just happened?” Cas asks and somehow Dean knows exactly what happened, “You’re human, Cas.” -
