Summary
After Itachi's cover in the Akatsuki is blown, the truth about the Uchiha Massacre comes to light very suddenly and unexpectedly. Sasuke's entire world is flipped upside down, and Konoha itself is reeling from the knowledge that the murder of an entire clan was not only sanctioned, but covered up completely. Sasuke becomes determined to find out what happened to Itachi, and also to bring those who were really responsible for his clan's downfall to justice. Fortunately, he's not the only one who is horrified by the truth, and ends up finding unexpected allies that change how he sees himself, his brother, and his village. The problem is, he has no idea how to feel about Itachi, or if he's even still alive.

“I mean,” Deidara growls, “you’re you from the future.”
“Of course I am,” Itachi says, like Deidara is a bit slow.
“And I’m me from the future,” Deidara continues, feeling a bit hysterical. Whatever Itachi did with the chakra nexus on the forbidden island, it ended with both of them traveling through time. “What the F––,” Deidara yells, and then tries to punch Itachi in the face again.

Summary
But the life of a missing nin is difficult by design. They’re not branded as such, not yet, but Itachi knows it will happen soon enough—and word of it will spread like wildfire. He’s hunted a handful of rogue shinobi in his time as a captain, and what a thing, to be cut down by once-friends and left to bleed out alone in the dirt. He shuts his eyes against thoughts of isolation and gore, wanting desperately anything other than such an end for his brother.
Itachi says no, and the world tears itself apart.

Summary
Itachi and Kisame are captured by the Leaf and locked in the cells. Sakura, apprentice medic to Tsunade, is tasked with keeping them both alive while they are interrogated.
Only, Kisame doesn't need torture to get chatty. He is more than happy to tell everyone the real reasons behind the Uchiha massacre. Shame nobody believes him.
