Rui Kamishiro. Not the most ordinary jellyfish in the sea, considering his eccentric personality (and not including the fact that he only has half the amount of tentacles any other jellyfish has, and a pair of human person legs).
Though, his life is rather boring, and not to his liking in the slightest bit. A shame there isn't an easy way to make life more exciting... Like, let's say, going to the surface?
Ah, but it's a crazy idea to go up there, and he could be hunted by the human people! Surely, Rui, THE Rui Kamishiro would know better than to put himself in danger like that...

Summary
tsukasa, still standing, only sighs with eyes softened by fondness and leans downwards, and neither of them really thinks before it happens.
just as rui lightly lifts his chin, tsukasa gently rests a hand on his cheek, then dips down to kiss his cheek. there’s a collective gasp around the entire rooftop. confused, rui’s eyes open to see emu’s pink ones staring back, wide.
tsukasa looks around. at the reaction, rui too, straightens up so quickly that his forehead bumps into tsukasa’s mouth. in tandem, tsukasa steps back, shocked, blinking and holding his mouth while grumbling to himself. neither emu or nene are sure if it’s because of the minor collision, or because of their careless little moment of affection driven by pure muscle memory.
either way, their secret is out now.

—until, he hears the click of a window latch sliding open.
rui’s eyebrows furrow. now that he’s paying attention instead of being lost in his thoughts, the click is outstandingly loud, and he doubts the notions of anyone else visiting the greenhouse this early into the morning. club activities took place after school, anyway.
it takes an embarrassingly long couple of seconds for the answer to dawn on him — there was an intruder in the greenhouse!
“excuse me, is there anyone there?”
a figure in the distance freezes, hands frozen in midair over the bed of sunflowers. from rui’s position, he can already tell some of the soil has been dug up in order to make the heist happen.
“..are you stealing?” rui asks slowly, mortified at the sight of his hard work being tampered with.

as valentine’s day draws closer, nene’s ominous message to rui has him riddled with conflict over what to do.

“Hm?” Rui hums, his hand halting, “I feel fine..” he absentmindedly mutters.
“Really.” Tsukasa’s voice sounds very flat, “No scratchy throat? Runny nose? Headache?”
Rui’s mouth forms a really small ‘o’ and he makes a very fitting, “Ohhh..” sound in tandem.
“Aha! So you are sick! Well then, Rui! I’ll see you in a few minutes! Keep resting until I’m over!” Tsukasa boasts over the phone before hanging up without hearing Rui’s response.
