“Where'd he even come from?” Louis asks.

    “Heaven,” says Lestat.

    “Twitter,” says Daniel.

Louis doesn't know which answer he finds more disturbing.

Lestat is done waiting for Louis to be his companion again, so he sets out to find a new one. Louis is fine about it. Totally fine.

You can cancel your flight. He was fine about the book.

Fine? As in, “Of course you can fuck someone else, Louis. Of course. Of course. Of course. Of course.” That sort of fine?

    Summary

“You came,” he breathes out, unblinking. His hands play at the edges of his shirt, almost childlike. Daniel hates him, wants him, loves him.

“You fucker,” Daniel swears, then does the perfectly natural thing and kisses him.

Or, Daniel searches for his maker after his turning, only to find him in Paris.

Armand seems to grow even smaller in front of him, kneeling on the floor. He shifts his weight as if responding to some unanswered request, stares into the space directly above Daniel’s head.

“And what would you have me do?” he whispers, baring his neck ever-slightly. An instinct, but one that does not go unnoticed.

“No,” Daniel falls forward, until they’re both on their knees, face-to-face, Daniel’s hand gripping Armand’s chin. “None of that shit, you got me? I’m not one of your fucking clients. I’m not Louis, either, for that matter. Or whoever your maker was. You know who I am. You know.”

    Summary

“Would you rip him off me?” Daniel asks. Carefully, he pushes Lestat away from his neck. Then he shuts his eyes. In the dark, skin becomes anonymous. The body against his could be anyone. He takes Lestat’s hand, and in his mind the fingers become slender, the wrist as fine-boned and delicate as the curve of a swan.

Daniel, snapped out of his headrush into a fluorescently rude reality, finds himself less inclined to hurry. “Hi, Louis,” he says. “Come to rescue the hapless fledgling?”

“I couldn’t let him keep doing that to you,” Louis answers, but his eyes never leave Lestat. “It would’ve been cruel of me.”

Daniel snorts. The temperature’s rocketing up in the little room, and he’s getting the feeling it’s time to make his exit before the eye fucking turns into real fucking.

“Sure, I wanted your story, but I wanted you more by the end. You could’ve started babbling about a goddamn Bollywood number happening in the middle of your life, I wouldn’t have cared. I’d have nodded, taken down the notes, and asked for a dozen more nights of it.” He gives Armand a fond look as he grabs at the hem of his hunter-green button down, yanking him in. “Besides, I’m all about the sequels these days.”
