Summary
Paul was cleaning to soothe his nerves. Soon he'd insist on getting breakfast started, and bothering John about if his stitches were itchy. He'd calm down once the baby was home, they both would. As the man said, John scribbled quickly, before Paul came in and started fussing over him, it seems like all I really was doing was waiting for you.
John and Paul get their act together to start a proper relationship in the late 70s…and then John gets pregnant and all their plans go out the window.

Summary
What was he thinking, having John’s baby when John wouldn’t even cough in his direction? It was bad enough to have John dump him for the exis in Hamburg. John had washed his hands of his family; he hadn’t seen Julian in weeks, and didn’t seem terribly excited to have him around when Yoko was there to fill his vision. John wasn’t going to want another baby to distract him from his new relationship, and his new life as someone who did things that were far more important than a little pop group.
When Paul becomes pregnant after a one-night stand in India, he decides that he would rather take matters into his own hands than rely on John for anything.

Summary
Even before he ever knew John, he knew him, can’t remember a time when that wasn’t true. Sure, he might not have known his name, or ever spoken to him. But he’s certain they must’ve passed each other a dozen times on buses and in shops and just walking round the streets of Liverpool. So Paul knows that they weren’t ever truly strangers. And now looking back at those memories that maybe aren’t even real memories, just pictures in his head of things that may or may not have actually happened, Paul is also certain he must’ve loved him even then. That loving John has just been his constant state. His past, present, and future.
If time is a circle that loops back on itself and repeats, then Paul’s love for John is the only real proof he has of that concept.

Something breaks in India. Beginning in the time period right after Brian’s death, this is a story that takes us from England to India, to New York, and then back to England again as Paul tries to mend something that may no longer be mendable.
