The count’s knight is someone he keeps close to his heart. It is not a difficult thing to realize if one observes the two for any length of time.
Although it is not conventional, the roguish knight, known only by the simple name of Evan, is someone who the entire estate staff knows to recognize as the count’s treasured confidant. Just about everyone figured that out years ago now.
