But Donghyuck takes a deep breath in, wills himself to relax, then speaks. “I just feel that if we decide to go to those sorts of haunted, or supernatural locations, it’s like we’re asking to get possessed. Or cursed. Or something worse. Have you guys even seen The Conjuring, or the twenty following films? Who knows what’ll happen if we go messing with freak shit. I don’t think it’s a good idea.”
Jaemin, who has not bothered to be a part of their conversation before because he has more of a show up on the day sort of attitude towards their YouTube channel, clucks his tongue from the other side of their shared couch. “Wait a minute,” he drawls, a sickeningly sweet smile taking over his pretty features. “Is our little Duckie scared of ghosts?”
(Ghosts are pretty high up on Donghyuck’s list of fears. Jaemin just so happens to be higher.)

Maybe it’ll always be like this—like watching the snaggletoothed new kid stutter through his first introduction, or crawling into his best friend’s bed to hold him through his first heartbreak, or getting down on one knee in his ugly red graduation gown and asking his boyfriend to make him the luckiest man in the world.
