Summary
Well, the old man is dead. Passed on, kicked the bucket, bought the farm and all those other pretty little euphemisms. Liver failure. Sorry son. It was just like him too, doing something like this right when life was looking up.
When Jake’s abusive father dies, he goes back to his childhood home in Texas to attend the funeral, his first time in years after going no-contact with his family. On Javy's insistence, he brings Bradley with him, and they get closer as Jake has to face his past and deal with the memories seeing his family and hometown bring back. Upon returning, the relationship only gets closer, and a drunken kiss leads to Jake’s life spiraling out of control.- Language:

Summary
It was no secret Jake was born and raised on the edge of Texas, anyone who spoke to him could hear it in his accent and vocabulary. He was almost your cliche cowboy- full of country music, beer, line dancing, and a cocky attitude.
Then there were the things people didn’t know, not even Javy knew it all and they had been best friends, brothers, for what felt like a lifetime. Jake didn’t talk about his childhood much, if anything it would be a joke that raised a few eyebrows before being laughed off. That’s what he wanted.
Hangman was raised on a ranch in Texas, two sisters and the perfect southern family.
Jake Seresin was raised in a cult, a dark place that was disguised as a beautiful, heaven sent community.

Summary
"I'm not a ghost. I promise." Rooster patted his knee, but Hangman brushed him off, burrowing deeper into the couch. He didn't look like the cocky pilot Rooster had known. He looked…afraid, an emotion Rooster had seen only once. After the mission, when they'd successfully landed. Hangman had been standing on deck, drenched in sweat, helmet hanging limply in one hand, face drawn.
You saved my life, he thought. Do you know that you saved my life?
Probably not.

Summary
Scott remembers what it felt like to have Kip ripped out of his hands by fear and silence and a world that insisted love like his had to be hidden. Remembers the hollow space it left behind, the way he couldn’t breathe around the pain, and he wouldn’t wish that kind of loss on anyone.
Not even on Rozanov.
And somehow, for the first time, Rozanov doesn’t look like an asshole at all. Just a man holding the person he loves like the world might try to pry him away.
Or: After a brutal playoff press conference, Scott follows Shane into the hallway and accidentally witnesses something he was never meant to see.
It changes the way he understands both Hollander and Rozanov.
