“I only listen to the Family,” Levi says absently.

“What the fuck did you just call me?” Keith asks angrily, rubbing at his own hand, his eyes wide with confusion.
“I didn’t say anything!” Lance defends, gaze flicking between Keith and the mage. He genuinely doesn’t know what the hell is going on.
The mage bows lightly, clasping their hands in front of their chest. “The ritual seems to have worked as expected. Worry not, Paladins, your new bond will vanish by itself once you’ve strengthened the preexisting bond between the two of you enough.”
Lance shivers. What? What fucking bond?
Keith seems equally as bewildered when he looks back at him.

Lance’s posture has gone from somewhat respectable to bad to worse, and his attention span is slowly but surely reaching its breaking point, when the door in the back of the room slides open.
Blue and gray and black. Long, dark hair. A familiar set of eyes. The same faded scar carved along his cheek.
Lance jerks upright, nearly jumping out of his chair.
“I’m filling in for Kolivan.”
The words strike right through Lance’s sternum. And he didn’t even have his defenses up. He didn’t have time to prepare.
Although somewhere deep down, he knows that no time in the world could’ve prepared him for seeing Keith again.

Keith looks between the children and the hat, too confused to glare, sweaty and horrid from pulling weeds beneath the scorching sun. “What?”
“That’s wrong,” Nadia complains, and yanks her brother down to her level to whisper the correction in his ear.
“Ooh,” Silvio amends. “Tía Veronica said you have a pale ass. My Abuela said you’re gonna die.”
OR
When Lance is fatally wounded during their final battle, the blue lion enters a deep hibernation with Lance inside. Unsure when or if he’ll wake, Keith is forced to wait and watch over him in the company of the people he fears most: Lance’s family.

It was, he justifies, practically a life or death situation. It's entirely understandable that in the face of the mission stakes, he threw his whole self into it. Really into it. For the sake of believability, that's all. Life or death. Yeah.
And now, whenever death does find him, he'll go down knowing exactly what Keith's lips feel like against his; what Keith's tongue tastes like; the grip of Keith's hands on his body; the hardness of Keith's hips when Lance presses against them. Never in a million years did he think he'd ever know such things, but now he's never going to be able to un-know them. Hell, he can almost still feel the heat of Keith's hand through the fabric of these shitty uniform pants.
He almost wishes he could un-know it all, because then maybe he could forget how much he liked it.
Maybe he could even convince himself that he doesn't sort of want to do it again.

Summary

Or: a historical retelling of No Regrets and SNK centred on Erwin and Levi’s relationship. Except is WWI. But everyone lives. Nobody dies. Well, somebody dies, just not Levi or Erwin.

It was because of what Petra had said: Erwin was really, really good at singing. Not only that, Levi thought, but he could play guitar pretty well too, and the way in which he did both at once made it look far easier than Levi actually knew it to be. His voice, which had been deep and smooth while he’d been speaking, was even moreso now, sounding so multi-layered and rich that it was indeed as if he’d been professionally trained.
Hell, for all Levi knew he actually fucking had been or something, but at that point it didn’t matter. Whether or not he had taken singing classes before or just happened to be incredibly talented wasn’t the issue, not when he seemed to reach the crescendo of the song, anyway, and Levi felt himself get goosebumps.
