“I- I thought about what if it were you or Song-Daozhang who was cursed to sleep forever so I…” she feels ridiculous, voicing her reasons out loud now.
“You did your best.” Song Lan reassures her. “And it’s all we could do to help.”
“I’m sure it’ll work out somehow.” Xiao Xingchen says, though he himself doesn’t sound convinced. He and Song Lan continue to discuss what could be done, and A-Qing’s thoughts wander to Madam Lan and the pain in her eyes.

“What about you?” Severa asks quietly, and Lucina looks up to Severa's brown eyes, staring intensely at her. “What do you want?”
“I would like to marry you, Severa.” Lucina tells her, “But again, it is entirely up to you. I don't mind not being married to you. As long as we're together, that's all that matters to me.” And she means it.
Severa closes her eyes, quiet as her head falls forward to rest on Lucina's shoulder.

For a while, neither of them spoke. They sat in a heavy silence, just the two of them. Aang looking up, Zuko staring straight ahead. He thought again of his cousin, of his mangled family and all they took, and how Aang had always, somehow, been at the center of it.
“You were dreaming about him, weren’t you?” Zuko said, suddenly. His chest tightened at the realization. It came together all at once, like someone had whispered the answer in his ear. Aang shifted beside him. His eyes almost flashed in the moonlight. “Of Roku.” Zuko clarified, though they both knew who he meant.

OR: Aang's 18th birthday stirs up a lot of unprocessed grief and with the inauguration of the United Republic just around the corner and increasing expectations the pressure of it all is becoming too muchRepublic City shenanigans, drunken truth or dares, complicated visits home and a semi-arranged marriage inbound!
this is about the Gaang, five years after the war trying to find their way :)
I should say, if you've read beautiful boy this is definitely in the same universe in terms of vibe/characters/style/etc, just think of it as like not quite in the same canon but pretty much <3
