Summary
Eivor was cold. He was falling. Pain wrapped tight around his neck. Something filled his mouth, hot and metallic. Beside him, Basim was choking, a hand pressed against his chest. Blood spilled past his fingers. Eivor tried to reach for him, to hold him, but his body wouldn’t move. He couldn’t move, he couldn’t breathe-
One minute Eivor is in a cold cave in Norway, Basim’s blade at his neck, the next, he’s waking up in Kjotve’s clutches, three years earlier. This time, he knows Basim’s treachery, Sigurd’s hubris. The threads of fate are woven long before his birth, but what happens when one, tiny snag unravels the tapestry? The Nornir send him back, armed with foreknowledge, to fix their mistakes.
He just hopes Basim isn't beyond saving.

Summary
Don't look back is a lesson taught to every demigod early. Time taken to look back is time lost, and time lost can be the difference between life and death. Looking was for once you were safe enough that it couldn't get you anyway.
He looks.
The curtain in the attic window sways.
"Percy."
There's a hand on his shoulder— a real one— before Annabeth is turning him towards her, fingers digging into his skin. The smell of decay vanishes, overwhelmed by salt and sea, a fresh breeze blowing up from the Sound and tossing her hair to the wind.
"Percy," she says urgently, eyes bright and storming and wild. "Did you see something?"
Sometimes the world ends, everything is horrible, and your best bet for survival is using your cannibal grandfather's reality-destroying object of power to jaunt backwards through time and hope you (Percy) don't fuck it up even worse.
Fingers crossed.Bookmarked by infinitearchivealpha
