Laying on his death bed, in the last homely home of the elves, the Valar visit Bilbo. Something went wrong, Frodo and Sam failed their task. Bilbo has been charged with going back, back to the very beginning. He is being sent back to his twenty fifth year of age.

Bilbo: dies, time-travels, becomes Mandos’ favorite, pranks half of Rivendell, turns pirate, saves the Nazgûl, and learns combat from Glorfindel.
Gandalf: “What do you mean Belladonna isn’t dead?”

The Battle of the Five Armies has ended. Azog the Defiler is dead. Bolg is dead, but sadly, so are many others. Two ancient kingdoms are in desperate need of repair if their people are to have any chance at survival, and the king is lying injured in the healing tents. Fili knows that it's all up to him, but how can he help his people or his friends when he, too, is also trying desperately to survive?

Amy somehow ends up in Middle Earth, falling into Bilba Labingi’s garden. While she fairly quickly understands where she is, there is the small problem that she has no idea when, at least not at first. Also, this is clearly not the version of Middle Earth Tolkien wrote about. For one thing, Bilba has the wrong gender. And for another… Amy can’t understand anything Bilba—or anyone else for that matter—tells her. She needs to learn a brand new language, while going on an adventure that might just possibly kill her.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, she starts hoping that this isn’t a Bilbo/Thorin romance, because she may just possibly be falling a bit in love with a certain grumpy dwarf.
