Summary

Basically a very self-indulgent fic about how hard it would be for Ilya to actually move on from the pain of the past and to go no contact with his family in a timeline where Grigori is still alive. Also, Ilya deserves to be known and loved by more people than just Shane and Sveta. Forced/Found Family here we come.

Summary
No serious hockey fan or sports commentator worth their salt would have considered record-breaking Boston superstar Ilya Rozanov to be Shane Hollander’s rival exactly, but sleeping with a man who had a specific offense-related vendetta against him and a wrist shot like a jet engine to back it up was probably ill-advised just the same.
Or, Shane is a goalie. Ilya can’t score.

“You’re strong.” Someone comments from behind him.
Caught off guard by the knowledge he is being watched, Shane turns around.
Ilya Rozanov is standing there, one hand tucked in the jacket of his pocket and the other holding a cigarette. He lifts it to his lips and takes a drag. It should be illegal for anyone to look as good as Rozanov does while smoking, Shane thinks, it’s detrimental to the country’s health.
“Yeah.” Shane agrees, for a lack of anything else to say.
“Hockey player.” Ilya comments.
