Kaeya blinks.“That… is some logic, right there,” is the response the knight ultimately lands on.
Or: There’s a big romantic festival coming up, and the citizens of Mondstadt want to ask the reclusive Sucrose out. The only way? To get someone to take Albedo too. Kaeya takes up the challenge.
“I’m interested in these social devices you use. Could you tell me more about them? I’d like to take notes.” Albedo’s eyes don’t waver - those inquisitive, objective, smug eyes - and on his lips is the slightest hint of a smirk.
Kaeya laughs affably, but his smile twinges very slightly with irritation.“I’d be happy to talk with you,” Kaeya offers without missing a beat. “I’m sure you could benefit from learning some of them.”
Then: Kaeya learns, to his dismay, he and Albedo have a lot in common.

Kaeya lets out an exasperated sigh.
Childe overstays his diplomatic welcome in Mondstadt. There’s only one person in town who is remotely happy with this, and it takes convincing.

But it tasted like tears on the back of his tongue, an iron crypt in his throat. How could Vash say yes after everything, everyone, that Nai had razed, that Vash had allowed him to? The air for the word was flowing over tombstones.

Or: Knives successfully alters Vash's memories so that he trusts Nai above everyone and everything else. It's a perfect happy ending. (Except for Meryl. And Wolfwood. And, well, the rest of the human race.)

Hunger is a new feeling. A foreign entity — there is no pang in his stomach that the texts speak of, instead it is a mouth filled with thirst, teeth primed, hands ready to peel back the skin of a throat and find the thick, viscous sweet as honey taste, from the sweetbread of his chest to the subtle curve of his thigh. Would he become like Vash if he partakes? Sentimental, weak, a withering commodity in the face of humanity? All the same, if his little brother ate the sweet-milk of his bones, drank the wine of his body, broke him to an ichor, nectarous feast — would he cease to be bird bone brittle?
In the end, none of his expectations are met.
