Summary
She emerges like a nightmare taking form, tall, lithe. Her skin glows with an unearthly light unrelated to the swinging basement light above. Her eyes, bright, unnervingly green. Her form slowly becomes sharper, the shadows clinging to her body like dark silks. The sheer presence of her steals the breath from your lungs; it’s hard to breathe.
She takes a slow step forward, and her gaze sweeps over your circle with an undisguised amusement. You take a step back on instinct. She bends at the waist, a finger touching one of your chalk lines.
“Oh, little scholar,” she muses. “What have you done?”
