Summary
Light took her chin in her left hand, her right entangled in her hair. Their eyes meet, and now she knows- Light looks at her with a murderous gaze, and yet there's still love behind it. Maybe in her perspective, death is the gentlest mercy someone like L deserves.
They kiss too fast and not soon enough. It feels like L has been waiting for this, and she's not sure for how long. They pull away, and Light cannot meet her eyes.
She goes back to drying off L's hair, and as she covers L's ears, she whispers something.
"I will miss you."

L has fallen hopelessly in love with Light. The real Light, but she's long gone now.

Every day, L does some new stupid thing. For example: he has dragged Light out of bed at 6 AM by the handcuffs to go get a testimony from one of Yotsuba Kira's victims. Who is a dead person who cant talk, and is not haunting a restaraunt, on account of being dead and ghosts not being real, right? And even if said ghost WAS real, it's not like it would try killing Light and L.

Summary
L knows that Light Yagami is guilty. And he is forced to accept that he will never be able to prove it.
So, just this once, he decides to break his principles and go above the law. He kidnaps Light and takes him to Wammy's house.
He's sure that having the kids interact with a real-life mass murderer will be a very educational experience indeed.
Or: Light is Kira, L is sick of how easily manipulated the police are, and he secretly wants to see what will happen if he forces Light into a domestic situation with children just as intelligent as he is.
