In response, the taller man backed up and closed his hands together in the air.
“Was it that bad…?” If he had heard it correctly the first time, it really wasn’t that embarrassing. Unless, well. He was afraid.
He leaned back into him again, this time all of a sudden. John could swear it was going to end up killing him if he kept on randomly doing that.
Then, he grabbed both of John's wrists and placed his hands back under his coat and on his hips without a word.

Sherlock has no what love is until he finds himself aiming his gun at criminal mastermind Jim Moriarty in an attempt to protect John Watson, who had noticed his concerns about the doctor being the exchange token. John is naturally protective of him, both as the oldest and the doctor, but also quite skeptical about his demeanor. Sherlock drags him into one of the bathroom stalls with the excuse that John should calm down, where things happen and feelings deep buried get brought back out.

Sherlock cut him off rather impatiently.
"No. That is not what I asked!! Have you ever loved someone? Truly?"
Ryuunosuke tilted his head like a dog.
"Truly? Do you mean romantically?”
The taller man nodded vigorously. Even hearing the word said out loud made him feel a lump in his throat. Ryuunosuke looked right into the other’s piercing eyes.
"Oh, I, uh- Maybe. Why do you ask?"
"How does it feel?"

It's Ryuunosuke Naruhodou, who can't help but worry, so he makes it his mission to help the detective navigate through his personal problems in an attempt to get him to open up about his feelings. This journey involves a confused Sherlock realizing he has found feelings of some sort, and a caring Ryuunosuke who wants to do everything he can for him. Including, well, sex.
