He sits on the left side. Crosses his leg over the other, stretches his arm along the back, closes his eyes. And he waits. He listens to people pass him by; listens to the blood rushing through their veins, the drunken and off key singing, the low murmurs of lovers whispering to each other. It’s all familiar, like coming home after some time away.

Lestat laughs, a cool puff of air on Louis’ neck. “I will tip the maid handsomely if it is such a big deal to you.” she retorts. Her wet hair tickles when she shakes her head, again, like Louis is the ridiculous one between the two of them.
He turns in Lestat’s arms, hands rising to her shoulders, fingers wrapped around to overlap at her nape. “That’s not the point, Les.” he says, and perhaps turning around was not the best course of action, because his vision is suddenly flooded by the image of her. Cheeks rosen from the heat of her bath, her nipples pebbled tight as the chill of the room licks against her chest, blue eyes wide and lips puckered in a pout. He can’t tear his gaze away, barely registering the gleam that shines in her pupils before she’s pulling him forward into a kiss.
