Neal's face fell slack, his hands twisting together. The look was alien on the confident man, Peter had never seen him look so scared, so alone. "If this doesn't-"
The petrified expression was bulldozed out the way by anger, Neal's nostrils flared, and he shook his head wildly. "Nope, we are not doing this. I'm not passing on any messages because you are going to make it out of here."
"I need you to tell El." Peter pleaded, tears pricking behind his eyes.
Neal was having none of it. He pressed against the agent's side and angrily muttered. "You can tell Elizabeth when you see her." His expression softened, head shaking at the ceiling. "You think she doesn't know, Peter?"
Peter swallowed a sob, hot tears escaped regardless. This was agony, and Neal hadn't even started yet.
A gloved hand gripped his, warm and reassuring. "You ready?"
No
"Yeah." He lied.
Or Peter gets shot in a random act of violence, Neal is determined to keep his partner alive.

He was not expecting Dustin to immediately come through the door and stop right at his window. Dustin wasn’t quite dressed- he looked like he still had pajama pants on, and he definitely wasn’t wearing any shoes. His hair was more wild than usual, too. Steve gave it a second, but Dustin just stood there and stared at him. With much trepidation, Steve rolled down his window.
