The Herald touches his friend's arm, softly, and takes him by the hand. He scatters the onlooking crowd without raising his voice, makes them float away like so many blown strings of a dandelion sprout.
See? There is nothing to fear, he tells Jayce. You are among friends. You are safe. You are all mine.

“The battle’s already lost,” he announces. “Mel’s approved my time-off ages ago. I got all the goodies,” he rattles the brown bag invitingly, “and Sky’s manning the lab. You’re not getting out of it, V.”
“Out of what?” Viktor demands, in increasing malaise, clutching at his crutch like a lifeline.
“Of fun,” Jayce says, threateningly.

They spoke about the funeral almost as often as they spoke about the wedding. For Viktor it was a coin toss as to which would come first, a child’s game. For Jayce it was like playing cat’s cradle with the hangman’s noose.

Summary
On an expedition into the ruins of what was once the city-state of Piltover, historian Elora discovers two mages, Mel Medarda and Jayce Talis, who have been under a sleeping spell for four hundred years. She insists on bringing the possibly radioactive ancient mages back to her home in the Freljord. Because there's something pulling Elora towards Mel, who speaks as if they already know each other. It's probably the same thing that pushes Jayce towards a professor called Viktor.
Or: Mel and Jayce meet the reincarnations of Elora and Viktor and get a second chance, centuries after the events of Arcane s02e09.

Jayce rubs a hand over his face. “Yeah. I mean, I’ve never been to a gynecologist either, but that’s more of a gender crisis thing than a crunchy trad-Pilt thing. You get it.”
He says it lightly, a snort or a roll of Viktor’s eyes expected.
But Viktor just goes very, very still.

He woke up half-crushed on a futon with Jayce’s head on his shoulder, muttering in his sleep. There was a blue screen flickering in front of them—Hextech, he thought, for a terrified moment, before something in his blood told him they’d fallen asleep watching something together, a movie, which he sort of understood, even if he didn’t think he could explain it.
In the cold glow of the screen, Jayce looked strangely… exposed. It was easier to look at Jayce through the beady white eyes of a god, or his soul in the cosmos, than it was to look at what Viktor had done to him now. For a moment he touched their foreheads together—selfish, selfish—just to feel Jayce’s warmth on his skin. The illusion that he had started something instead of ending it, saved someone instead of ruining him.

Summary
Viktor had walked into their lab in a good mood to see Jayce bent over, coughing and hacking delicate little red and white flower petals all over their floor. Jayce had noticed the interruption mid-cough and nearly choked on the next round of flora and spit, his eyes gone wide and his face the color of a tomato. Honestly, he'd looked more like Viktor had caught him with his pants around his ankles than with a common psycho-respiratory infliction.
Well in the interest of honesty, Viktor had felt like he'd caught Jayce with his pants down in the middle of an affair.
Those feelings in mind, Viktor feels his younger self can be forgiven for breaking the horrified silence by flatly commenting, "Gross. Try to get over that quickly."
