With the birth of every Kitsune, the Goddess Inari will take part of their soul and implant it in a worthy mortal so they may birth the Kitsune’s perfect Mate: their Hoshi no Tama. A century ago, Atsumu lost his and in a fit of despair and rage, he left her ranks and struck out on his own.
As an immortal, he’s cursed to roam the earth alone, having turned his back on the goddess who gave him life and refusing to come to her aid. So it’s a surprise when his twin appears to him out of nowhere, telling him that unless he finds his Hoshi no Tama, he’ll become increasingly sick, losing control of his powers as he gradually reverts to his fox form before dying. Because contrary to his belief, his Mate is out there, reincarnated and unaware of the existence of Kitsunes or his own role in housing part of 1. As he sipped on his protein shake, Childe thanked his donors for quite a few minutes until he neared the end of the list.
“Thank you for the two Starry Nights, Watch Me Solo 69. Thank you for the eight Celestial…” Childe blinked twice, slowly, then rubbed his eyes. His eyes flicked to his monitor in an instant and he straightened the hem of his neckline, sitting taller. “Thank you for the eight Celestial Blooms, Zhongli.”
