Josuke leaned forward and put his elbows on Rohan’s desk, grinning at him in amusement. “You want reality, yeah? I’ll take you on a date and show you what it’s like— if you’re paying.”
“You greedy little…” Rohan murmured, pursing his lips as he contemplated what to do.
It was a stupid idea— he should decline, but Rohan did love getting hands-on experience. The suggestion sounded just ridiculous enough to intrigue him.

Rohan tapped the end of his pen against the table as he held the phone to his ear. He was in the middle of a work call with his editor Kyoka, though it was supposed to end several minutes ago. They had so much to go over, yet Kyoka seemed to have an issue with staying on topic today.
“Yes, Izumi-kun…” Rohan murmured into the receiver as he sandwiched the phone between his shoulder and ear. He wanted to wrap the call up since Josuke was coming over later, but really there was a more pressing reason. Rohan shifted uncomfortably in his seat, tapping a foot against the floor impatiently as he listened to Kyoka speak. -

If someone were to go back in time to 1999 and tell Josuke that someday, approximately 7 years in the future, he would be inviting Rohan Kishibe into his home to live with him, he would probably double over laughing at how ridiculous that sounded. Yes, the Rohan Kishibe, the one he beat the shit out of and set his house on fire (on two separate occasions, not that that made it any better), the one whose arrogance seemed to know no bounds, and the one who apparently went bankrupt by buying a mountain for his manga.

“This one would look nice, wouldn’t it?” Rohan murmured, holding a green leather collar up to Bakin’s fluffy neck. The deep green color matched the headband he was wearing.
Bakin couldn’t care less, and was just happy to be having a little outing with Rohan and Josuke, though his ears perked up as Josuke dangled another collar in front of Rohan, asking, “What about this one?”
Rohan looked at Josuke as if considering his suggestion, and he even took it from his hands to compare it to the one he was already holding. “No,” Rohan decided, and Josuke did look a little disappointed. Any disappointment was replaced with embarrassment and shame as Rohan stood up and held the collar up to the taller man’s neck, adding, “This would suit you much more, don’t you think?

Summary
Something about Josuke seemed different, though Rohan couldn’t quite put his finger on it. Rather than wearing his school uniform, he had on a tight turtleneck and some slacks. Odd, given this was a weekday and Josuke should have had school. His usual pompadour was messier, more relaxed; though it still looked utterly ridiculous, it was slightly less dated. Before Rohan could make a comment about his new look, Josuke spoke up again, this time sounding a bit more desperate.
“C’mon Rohan, what day is it?”
As much as he didn’t want to entertain whatever prank this was, Rohan answered honestly in the hopes it would get Josuke out of there, “It’s December 2nd, if that’s all you came to ask then go away.” He made to shut the door, but Josuke physically stopped him, putting his own hand on Rohan’s. It was warm, despite the chill in the air and Josuke’s lack of outerwear.
“Okay… what year…?”

“When I get past how much it pisses me off to have my villa broken into, it does make for an interesting experience,” Rohan sighed, “I could definitely use something like this in my manga.”
Jodio squatted down in front of Rohan, eyeing him from head to toe. All in all, it was a little surreal to be in the presence of his favorite mangaka. He was told there was a rich Japanese guy staying at this villa on the Big Island, but never in a million years did Jodio imagine it would be the Rohan Kishibe. To say he was a fan would be a bit of an understatement; Jodio had seen all of the Pink Dark Boy anime, kept up with the manga, and even read all of the oneshots that Rohan wrote.

Rohan turned away from Josuke, intent on ignoring the younger man and getting some well deserved rest after their whole ordeal today. Not only did he have to rely on Josuke’s assistance to get his memories back, but the brat ended up winning their bet, and now they were both stuck at Koichi’s house due to the storm outside. It was just the two of them and Koichi’s dog Police, who was fast asleep on the floor. The wind outside made it feel like the whole house was shaking, and Police was the only one who didn’t seem to care.

Against her better judgment, Josuke shut the door behind her and squatted to Rohan’s level, her long skirt pooling on the ground between Rohan’s legs. An expression that Josuke couldn’t quite read— fear? shock?— flashed over Rohan’s face for only an instant before Rohan tugged her down and punched her square in the jaw.
“What the hell?” Josuke gasped, as if she wasn’t at some amount of fault for intruding in Rohan’s home (again). The hit could have been worse, and she wouldn’t be missing any teeth, though it would definitely bruise and be super awkward to explain to her mom.
“What, can you not stand having someone hate your guts?” Rohan teased, “Is that why you won’t leave me alone?”

Rei agreed to play detective with Blade and wear an outfit he provided— really, it was a small price to pay to get closer to the e-droid— but he didn’t think that Blade would insist on helping him change into it.
“Little Chick, you’re going to look super cute in this~” Blade hummed, unclipping the gold chain on Rei’s cape before sliding it off his shoulders. Rei had protested, he wasn’t a child, he could dress himself, but Blade was determined to help— even if that meant this whole process took significantly longer than it would have if he handed Rei the clothes and sent him on his way.

This isn’t Rei's first time back here, mentally. Whenever his mind took him back to this day there were always tiny variations to the scene, which could be attributed to forgetting the details over the years that had passed, or how his mind was hazy when it actually happened— but no matter how many times he’s been forced to relive this memory, his subconscious has never been able to conjure up a variant with a good end.

Despite what everyone said about them, the creature didn’t seem hostile. If anything, it seemed more afraid of Tatsumi than Tatsumi was of it. Especially when Tatsumi rounded a corner, accidentally running face first into it— he fell to his knees on the hard concrete floor, his eyes wide as he sat frozen in shock. A glimpse became a look, and a look became a stare, and he was certain you were not supposed to look at these things, but the creature looked just as surprised as he did. It just stared back at him. Tatsumi was almost afraid to move, worried the bracken would snap his neck the moment he did, so he did the only thing that popped into his brain at a time like this.
“I’m terribly sorry,” Tatsumi apologized, staring at the mesmerizing set of turquoise eyes until the creature fled with a gasp.
