Summary

Enter Stiles Stilinski: newly manifested, top of his class, already fired from two field placements for being smarter than his supervisors and incapable of keeping that information to himself. The more that I think about it, the more I believe in the small possibility that my unfertilized eggs may be safe for Grace to consume. It’s at least worth trying, I resolve, as I watch him cry himself to sleep for the fourth consecutive cycle. His stomach is constricting, growling loudly. He’s been unable to keep the coma slurry from resurfacing once again.
I can detect his body shutting down. I decide I can't allow this to continue. I won't allow myself to sit by and watch idly as he dies in front of me, like so many others have before him.
Unfortunately, there is only one method that I can use to procure Eridian eggs for Grace's consumption.

As a kid, Dean’s dreams were pretty straightforward: food, a roof over his head, and maybe – if he really let himself dream big – a family that wouldn’t kick him out the second he became more trouble than he was worth.
