Summary
It took a long ride for Jon to clear his head after leaving Miss Stone. A few things were impressed upon him: Miss Stone’s courage was remarkable. And somewhere in the world there was a man Jon would like very much to kill.
Or: Sansa becomes a teacher in the Appalachian mountains, and develops something like a friendship–maybe more–with Doctor Jon Snow.
Title from "Upwards Over the Mountain" by Iron & Wine.

Summary
“Sansa is―” Jon had said, the very first time they went out together, his eyes glinting from the bottle of wine already finished on their table. He’d faltered on the last letter of his sister’s name, all sharp syllables that ended on a sigh. “Sansa’s all I have left.”

Bookmarker's Notes
“ There is the way Jon adores Sansa to the point it presses around his soul, silently, secretly, but painted in sharp lines across his face, visible in the right light.” 🚬 this is my third reread and it gets me every single time

Summary
Sansa’s carriage never made it to White Harbor. Masked men, the raven said. Robbers. Riding out to bring her back home, Jon lambasts himself the whole way. If it weren’t for him, she’d still be at home, safe and sound.
If life were a song, all would be well once Jon saves her. She’d call him her hero, fall helplessly in love with him, and even marry him. But Jon knows life isn’t a song. On their way back they’ll have to talk—truly talk—or he might lose her forever.
Trapped in yet another cage, Sansa lets her head return to the clouds she abandoned long ago. But she knows life isn’t a song. She’s not a stolen maiden and the hero who'll save her is not her love. Pretending helps her face another day, that's all. If only her stupid dreams hadn't painted her hero with Jon's face and Jon's voice and Jon's body. It's why she's so nervous when they have to huddle for warmth on their long way home. There's no other reason. None whatsoever.
Another one set after s8, in a timeline where Jon wasn’t exiled but returned home and resumed ruling the North.
