“I’d like you to stay,” Caitlyn blinked at her own words, once again cursing her runaway tongue, and Vi stilled in surprise, staring at her, the eyebrow sporting the slash cocked quizzically. “That is, if you still have to meet Ekko.”
“Not until midnight.” Vi replied slowly. “I’m all yours until then, Caitlyn.”
A shiver spidered down her spine at Vi’s use of her name. “Good.” Staring into her eyes, Caitlyn was suddenly uncertain whether her next words were calculated, or once again impulsive. “I feel safer with you here, anyway.”
A teasing smile replaced the previous look on Vi’s expression. “What, you’ve got this huge fancy mansion, and it takes an Undercity girl in your bedroom to finally make you feel safe and sound?”

It’s raining. Still. Again? The rocket hit the Council Tower, breaking it in pieces and it was like the sky was splitting open to share all the tears the people of Piltover were crying over their Council members. The tears Caitlyn was crying over the mere thought of her mother in that tower. It hasn’t stopped ever since.
It’s like it’s taunting her. It hasn’t stopped in days like it keeps wanting to remind her of every single thing she’s ever done wrong. Leaving Powder in the rain. Breaking her promise in the rain. Leaving Caitlyn in the rain. Then holding her in the rain as they watched fire and smoke take over the city Caitlyn loved. And then leaving her again…in the rain. Like a fucking coward.
