“Relax, I’m just saying,” Jinsol continues, all too pleased with herself. “Cupid has bestowed you a chance.”
“Chance for what?” Yoona snaps, her voice coming out sharper than intended.
Jinsol’s grin only widens. “To see if that four-year ‘friend crush’ is maybe more than you think.”
Yoona groans, pressing her face into her hands as if that will somehow hide the heat creeping up her cheeks. “It’s not like that, Sol. It’s just a harmless crush.”
This is exactly what she had been trying to avoid—Jinsol’s teasing worming its way into her thoughts and making her question everything. She knows she’s not exactly telling the truth either.
Still, she tries to convince herself. A harmless crush, she repeats. Just a fleeting admiration… that has somehow stretched on for four years.
Or, Jinsol, tired of Yoona’s pining for Jiwoo, decides to take matters in her own hands and help them get together. For once and for all.

“Unnie, you’re not really scared, are you?”
“No,” Yoona scoffs, though her voice is a bit too high-pitched to be convincing. “I just… don’t like abandoned places. Or weird flickering lights. Or creepy noises.” She glances back at the store, her eyes narrowing as the sign creaks ominously in the wind.
Jiwoo leans in, nudging her shoulder, her voice light. “What, you think it’s haunted?” She wiggles her fingers playfully, whispering, “Ooooooh, maybe there’s a ghost waiting for us…”
Yoona scowls, elbowing her with a huff. “Jiwoo, don’t even joke about that!”
“Come on,” Jiwoo teases, unable to keep from edging closer. “Ghosts aren't real, unnie.”
“Yeah, sure,” Yoona mutters, rolling her eyes. But she doesn’t pull away, her shoulder staying pressed against Jiwoo’s, her cheeks a little pinker than before.
Or, Spooky specters (or a Halloween prank, as Jiwoo says) push them, dressed as Daphne and Velma, to a reveal of their own.

She nods, gaze drifting back to the gym where the music still pulses through the air. She wonders if Austin even misses her, if he’s looking for her—if he even cares.
As she turns her attention back to Travis, a flicker of understanding passes between them. She smiles, or tries to anyway.
