“I hoped you'd make it home someday,” Cid called out in a raised voice.

Bookmarker's Notes
Hundreds of images of Cid and himself, wearing all sorts of normal and strange outfits, some places familiar, some very much not. But no matter the circumstance, their garments, their location, every vision has one thing in common.
Clive and Cid, falling in love, being in love.

Summary
*Spoilers for the end of Final Fantasy XVI*
Clive woke up, he hadn't expected that. Last he remembered was shattering the last mothercrystal and slowly turning to stone on the beach, the moon shining down on him. He had woken up in his younger body, in the aftermath of Phoenix Gate. He had retained his eikonic powers, but now he was young, strong, lithe. And Branded. This time around though, he vowed to use his knowledge to escape earlier, to do more, to save those he couldn't before.
But while still in the service of the army, he hadn't expected to be sent to Waloed. To go up against Lord Commander Telamon in his prime. And to be captured.

Summary
“Can you see it, Jill?” he murmurs into the quiet dark, his voice a shredded wreck from the salt water inhalation, the expenditure of aether. He wonders if Jill, his dearest childhood friend, sees what he sees now: a clear sky for the first time in months, the stars shining down on them, Metia vanishing from their sights as the magic in the land goes with her. Unbidden, his mind goes to that cracked crystal in his chambers at the Hideaway, to the goblet gifted to him by a far better man than he could ever hope to be. “Your dream is finally here, Cid…”
He wonders how Cid would feel about this moment, about the lengths they’ve gone to to secure humanity’s future. Cid had believed so fervently that this future could – would – come to pass that he had passed on Ramuh to Clive as his last act amongst the living. He, like so many others of their cause, had given his life as a down payment for this moment, putting his trust in the rest of them to deliver.

Bookmarker's Notes
“Not the place I would have expected to find you, Lord Rosfield.” A familiar voice, one that has haunted his thoughts for half a decade, reaches him. Clive’s heart misses one or several beats in shock. “You never struck me as the beach loving sort, lad.”
