Summary
They had been telling him for years to move into the town where it was safer, all stone and fire towers and occupied forts lead by men who called themselves wolf killers. For years, since his pop had died from a fever and his mom had followed from heartbreak. Since he had lost his arm to the same teeth said to haunt these woods.
But Cole always said it was easier to live where the work was. It was easier, and it was his home, and the wolf in the woods never much bothered him.
Until he stepped out his front door with a bowl of scraps that evening and found a large bundle of pale-white fur curled up in the dirt near his doorstep.
