A very careful collection of breath. “Leida is so very young. She doesn’t think so of course but then we never do, do we? Or I certainly didn’t at my own wedding. I was fifteen as well.”

“Yeah, me too.” Though Erskin had still felt like a child at his own wedding, the youngest of five whose every step was in someone else’s footprints: remember when Jado, remember when Lin. “I mean you could probably guess that with my family.”

    Summary

"The crown suits you, you know," said Ser Duncan over the cacophony, bringing Baelor back to himself. "Makes you look... you know. Kingly. Which I suppose makes sense, seeing as how you're the king now." A look of anguish crossed his face. "Oh, hells, I shouldn't be calling you 'you,' should I? It's 'Your Grace.' Please don't take—"

Baelor resisted the urge to rest his hand against the lad's back, as one might soothe a skittish horse. "No offense was taken, ser."

"Thank you," Ser Duncan said, then immediately amended, "thank Your Grace...ness. Seven fucks, I'm getting another drink." And he whirled away into the throng before Baelor could say a word.

    Summary

The snake is a symbol of longevity in the Abregado system and fertility on Felucia. In Corellian lore, the snake represents a journey, and its serpentine form can be found in the ancient script that predates even Olys Corellisi. On Atrisia, where snakes are rare, the snake is considered a harbinger of uncommon good fortune, as opposed to Ryloth, where the snake is such a common dæmon that depictions of snakes are considered passé.

Well, it's all right even when push comes to shove
Well, it's all right if you got someone to love
Well, it's all right, everything'll work out fine
Well, it's all right, we're going to the end of the line

It’s almost the last day on the job for Castellan Elim Garak. One or two loose threads to tie up and then he can retire home to his books and his garden and his doctors. Surely everything will work out fine?

What might have happened after The Crimson Shadow and Enigma Tales.

    Summary

“Dear Maia,” said Csethiro, amused. “Lack of presumption, thy name is Edrehasivar. Well, we are sorry for the faux pas. Have no fear, we are used to keeping quiet on the matter.” She frowned. “Gosh. For a woman who was so worried you disliked us, we are certainly giving you plenty of reasons, in our attempts to diffuse the situation. Damnation.” She sat back, then said, “Ooh, Goëlar,” and sat forwards again. “You have the set! And well-read, we dare say, how impressive…”
The woman's mind was like a scanning bird of prey, Csevet thought exhaustedly as she tottered out of the chair to look at his bookshelf. Pinned one topic and only let it go when it was in its death throes, then leapt instantly off to murder another.

(csevet and csethiro have three main things in common: pakh'palar, popular literature, and purpose. not necessarily in that order.)
