As it reached near the end of Matthew’s shift, he got a call from his father. His father wasn’t the type of person to call without a reason, meaning that the call was important.
“Hello?” Matthew said.
“Hey, Matt. How are you?” his dad asked. His tone was etched with concern, something was off. He just didn’t know what.
“Good, good,” he stared at the poster of an island in the break room, peregrine falcons flying in the air and a large cliff surrounding an ocean. “What’s wrong? You sound..like really worried.”
“Well, it’s about your grandpa.” his father began, pausing to let the words register in Matthew’s head.
